The Kidzcope Good Grief 5K & Kids Run Event promises a morning of fun while providing hope for grieving families. Honor the memories of loved ones and celebrate life by participating in a delightful morning 5K and Kids Run route through the Waterfront, beginning and ending at Whole Foods, located at the corner of 13th and Webb. Walk, run, jog either distance or both!

After the race, stick around for food, drinks and music. Awards will be made to the top three male and female finishers in the 5K. Age groups are: 12 and younger, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and older. Additionally, the top three youth finishers, male and female in the Kids Run will be recognized in the following age groups: 6 and younger, 7-9 and 10-12.

Proceeds will be used to advance the mission of Kidzcope, a nonprofit, non-affiliated organization which provides support and a comforting environment to grieving children and their families. The only organization of its kind in south central Kansas, volunteers lead group activities and through play and art therapy children learn there is hope after the loss of a loved one. When the world says “Give up,”
Hope whispers “Try one more time.”

When our life story is interrupted by death, our entire world is altered forever.

When someone we love is suddenly gone, we wonder if we will survive. And if we do, will we ever be strong and happy again.

Kidzcope — formerly Three Trees, Inc. — is a non-profit, independent organization providing support and a comforting environment for grieving children and their families. For ten years, families throughout Kansas have come to us in their time of need. Within our walls, children between the ages of 3 and 18 years can find comfort, healing and — most importantly — hope.

How we can help

Kidzcope offers a variety of support groups, programs and workshops to help children and families struggling with the death of a loved one. We provide grief support training for schools and organizations, and offer volunteers myriad opportunities to help with our mission.
